Satisfied parents say why they recommend Carlos.
Context
Carlos has been coaching my son since October 2012, firstly at Boldon Lawn Tennis Club and then through group sessions at Gosforth Lawn Tennis Club, David Lloyd Newcastle, and Westoe Lawn Tennis Club. He also provides individual coaching sessions for my son at Gosforth LTC.
Quality of Coaching
The quality of coaching from Carols is outstanding. Carlos has the ability to look at a players performance and give constructive, precise advice about how to improve their game in a clearly communicated way using language that they can understand – regardless of age. This has resulted my son making significant progress with his game under the expert guidance of Carlos in a relatively short space of time.
Carlos is able to effectively differentiate the lesson content to achieve the desired outcomes and goals to maximise the progress of all players in a group session – the lessons are fully inclusive. My son thoroughly enjoys his lessons with Carlos in both the group and individual format and, importantly, he is without doubt his favourite coach! Carlos has contributed greatly to further firing my sons enthusiasm for enjoying and playing tennis to a higher level. They have a very positive working relationship together and my son feels that he has a massive amount to learn from Carlos about the game.
I appreciate the willingness of Carlos to “go the extra mile” with players that demonstrate a keen willingness to improve in partnership with him through their own hard work. In my opinion, the enthusiasm of Carlos for investing in the development of young tennis players is obvious. The pace of his lessons is brisk, engaging and challenging for players – there is constant active learning – it is never dull. Carlos gets the balance between talking, demonstrating and developing through playing absolutely right.
My son feels that he is an excellent teacher and, as a teacher myself, I absolutely agree.
Reliability
Carlos has been an extremely reliable coach for my son in both group and individual lessons. Lessons always begin on time and often Carlos is willing to extend the time given to players to further develop point covered during the “standard” lesson time. This is greatly appreciated by both of us and is clearly a result of his obvious commitment to coaching and enthusiasm for developing players. I have had no reason at all at any time to question the reliability of the service that Carlos provides in any respect. I have full confidence in him as a coach.
General Professionalism
Carlos is highly professional and demonstrates his integrity every session through the quality of the coaching service that he provides. Carlos interacts with both players and parents in a professional manner and he earns the respect of both through his conduct in this regard. He is professional and honest with his comments and opinions in terms of player development and this is a quality that both of us appreciate and supports progress. I have had no reason at all at any time to question the professionalism of Carlos. Indeed, it is this professionalism that forms the fundamental basis for me wanting Carlos to continue coaching my son.
I would recommend Carlos Caldeira to other parents and players without hesitation.

Testimonial by Jonathan Pallas
I have known Carlos Caldeira for over 2 years during which time he has acted as a tennis coach for my son in both group lessons and individual coaching sessions. Lessons have taken place at Boldon Tennis Club, Westoe Tennis Club and Churchills.
The standard of his coaching is always very high with an emphasis on core skills and basic technique, mixed with general movement and fitness work. His rapport with his pupils is excellent and his friendly and approachable nature makes his coaching sessions both enjoyable and informative. He is always positive and encouraging, and this enthusiasm has certainly transmitted itself to my son who looks forward to each coaching session with Carlos.
I have no hesitation in recommending Carlos to anyone looking for a dedicated and reliable tennis coach who can bring out a child’s full potential, in a positive and encouraging environment.

Testimonial by Kathleen Johnston – PE staff Gosforth Academy
Carlos delivered the Tennis Leaders course to two groups at Gosforth Academy in December, 2013. In total, he led six sessions, covering a range of skills to students currently following the Sports Leaders Level 2 course.
In all sessions, Carlos arrived promptly and immediately engaged with the students gaining their confidence and respect. His delivery was of a very professional standard and he was able to adapt the content to accommodate the range of abilities within the group – given that most had very limited experience of tennis beforehand.
The groups learned about how mini tennis was organised and were encouraged to attempt the skills themselves – learning more about the techniques needed to play. They also learned ways in which they themselves could organise and deliver a tennis session to younger students and many remain keen to do this later in the year.
All of the sports leaders reported that they had enjoyed the lessons and had learned new skills which they can transfer and use in their leadership training.
